Supporting STEM readiness in young learners

For too long, Washington State imported too many of the bachelor and graduate degree holders we need to fill jobs in science, technology, engineering and math.

Altera intends to change that. Over the past two decades, we’ve demonstrated that students from underserved rural communities of all economic levels, can compete for, achieve, and succeed at these high-caliber jobs.

  • We’re helping rural students from Eastern Washington bring their valuable foreign language skills and cultural competency to the thriving IT sector in Western Washington.
  • There is also a growing demand for STEM and IT skills in our agricultural and viticultural economies.
